In October 2020, Breitling presented the Chronomat for the first time as a women's watch collection, namely in the size of 36 millimeters as the Breitling Chronomat Automatic 36 and as a quartz watch in the size of 32 millimeters.
You can find out more about the new Chronomat in an interview with Breitling boss Georges Kern. The Superocean model, which is waterproof up to 20 bar, shows that Breitling can not only handle air, but also water. The Superocean was first launched in 1957 and celebrated its 60th birthday in 2017. In return , the Superocean Héritage II received some improvements and changes in its equipment. The steel bezel is now provided with a rotating ring made of shock and scratch-resistant high-tech ceramic, which matches the color of the dial. The original Superocean logo is applied to the latter. Fact about Breitling: quartz watches Breitling also builds quartz watches. Without exception, the brand has all movements (mechanics and quartz) certified as official chronometers by the independent Swiss test center COSC . Breitling's quartz watches also include the well-known emergency watch, which is equipped with two high-frequency emergency transmitters. The Breitling Emergency has already saved the lives of more than 20 people. But quartz movements are also used in other collections such as the Colt aviator's watches. Fact about Breitling: The logo It was not until Breitling was sold to Ernest Schneider in 1979 that the brand received its logo, which is so well known today: the winged B with the stylized anchor symbolized Breitling's affinity for aviation and diving. In the past, only a simple “B” and the company lettering were emblazoned on the dials. And with the launch of the Navitimer, the brand's initial was combined for the first time with the AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association) symbol. In 2018, the brand returned to the simple “B” with the company logo on the dial. The winged logo is still on the dial of the Superocean, Avenger and Professional collections. In 2002 Breitling started a cooperation with the British luxury car manufacturer Bentley . The corresponding models from the Premier collection have the Breitling logo emblazoned on the dial, while the Bentley lettering is engraved on the flank of the case. After 19 years of collaboration, the longest partnership between a watch brand and a luxury car manufacturer, they will part ways at the end of 2021. Breitling and Bentley once teamed up to develop the on- board clock for the first Bentley Continental GT, which was launched in 2003. In the years that followed, the partnership resulted in some of the most notable watches in Breitling history. Breitling was one of the most famous joint projects Bentley Supersports Light Body , the Breitling Bentley GT3 Limited Edition , the Tourbillon watch for the Bentayga dashboard, the Bentley Continental GT Speed Breitling Jet Team series, the Premier B01 Chronograph 42 Bentley British Racing Green and the Premier Bentley Centenary Limited Edition . In April 2021, the new Breitling Premier B21 Chronograph Tourbillon 42 Bentley Limited Edition was launched, taking its place alongside the other joint products of the two brands. The last copy of this new timepiece is now ready and has left the manufactory. However, after shared experiences and successes, the two companies want to remain good friends. Fact about Breitling: Elegant watches With the launch of the new Premier collection , Breitling has become even more elegant. What began with the Navitimer 8 collection is reinforced by the new Premier models. The new Premier line - Breitling used the model name for some watches back in the 1940s - consists of five clearly designed models: the Premier B01 Chronograph 42 with the B01 caliber developed by Breitling; this is also in the Premier B01 Chronograph 42 Bentley British Racing Green. The Premier Chronograph 42 is powered by the Eta-Valjoux 7750 automatic caliber, the Premier Automatic Day & Date 40 has a Sellita movement and the Premier Automatic 40 comes with an Eta caliber. Fact about Breitling: The Manufactory Breitling has been a manufacturer since 2009 and produces its own chronograph movements in Breitling Chronometrie in La Chaux-de-Fonds . The first in-house movement, the Breitling caliber B01, was of course used in the Navitimer. The own caliber is equipped with a column wheel, vertical clutch, instantly jumping date and a power duration of over 70 hours. In addition, like all Breitling calibres, the movement has a chronometer certificate from the COSC. Since then, some modifications of the movement have been developed so that the manufacture chronograph is now also available with a world time function (caliber B05), a second time zone (caliber B04), as a three-hand hand-wound version (caliber B02) or, since 2019, a hand-wound chronograph version in the Navitimer Ref. 806 re-edition (caliber B09) there.
